Week 2 (September 13, 2020)

MATTHEW 5:11-16 // TRANSFORMATION CHALLENGE
-This week, every time you turn on a light switch, let it be a trigger in your mind to ask yourself….

Where do I need to be shining more for Christ? (A place? In front of a specific friend?)

-See what comes to mind and create a game plan to make it happen… even THIS week!

Week 1 (September 6, 2020)

MATTHEW 5:1-10 // TRANSFORMATION CHALLENGE
– Consider and apply one of the beatitudes
The Beatitudes run counter to what we’d typically think. Which of the contrasts MOST
grabbed your attention? And…how will you apply it this week?

BLESSED ARE…

The POOR IN SPIRIT are those who recognize they are spiritually bankrupt without Jesus – (as opposed to being self-righteous)

Those WHO MOURN are the ones who are genuinely sorrow-filled over their sin – (as opposed to those who do not care about personal holiness)

The MEEK are those who are humble before others…but specifically before God – (as opposed to being arrogant and self-seeking)

Those who HUNGER AND THIRST FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS are the ones who pursue personal righteousness as well as justice for the oppressed. – (as opposed to embracing and mimicking the world and only caring about oneself)

The MERCIFUL are those who offer grace where it might not be expected – (as opposed to being cruel, bitter and resentful in thought, word or deed)

The PURE IN HEART are those who keep their minds, wills and emotions focused on the righteousness that God desires – (as opposed to pursuing what is evil)

The PEACEMAKERS are those who promote peace, so much as it depends on them (Rom. 12:18) – (as opposed to promoting strife through gossip, agitation, and sowing seeds of discord)

Those PERSECUTED BECAUSE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS are the ones who are ridiculed and rejected by worldly people because of their love and trust in God – (as opposed to denying God and playing it safe with the world by rejecting Jesus).
