Melissa Clayton has been part of Lakewood Christian Schools since 2020 and currently serves as the Preschool Director. She loves the innocence and joy of preschool-age children and cherishes the many opportunities for meaningful, teachable moments. Melissa is passionate about supporting teachers and partnering with parents to ensure every child’s first school experience is positive, nurturing, and memorable.
She holds a Degree in Early Childhood Education and spent 20 years in the classroom as a preschool teacher before stepping into the director role in 2014.
Melissa grew up in Lakewood and attended Arbor Road (formerly FBCOL) until age 19, where she served on the Junior High staff for two years. Some of her favorite memories were made here, and she is grateful that God led her back to Arbor Road many years later.
In her free time, Melissa enjoys watching movies, playing board games, road trips, musicals, and a good cup of coffee. She and her husband, Steve, have been married since 1998 and have three young adult children and a son-in-law.
