Outreach + Missions
Outreach Ministry
Our Outreach ministries exist to Know God and Make Him Known by activating the local church body into our calling to meet the Great 8 needs in our community.

At Arbor Road we desire to put our faith into action (James 2:15-17) by caring for the Great 8 needs in our community.
So what are the Great Eight?
In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus calls Christians to care for the Hungry, Thirsty, Stranger, Naked, Sick, and Imprisoned and James 1:27 calls us to care for the Widow, and Orphan.
We know 8 is a lot to memorize, so we made it a little bit easier. Take the first letter from each and you get the acronym: WHO IS SNT?
It’s kind of a trick question, the answer is Jesus, and US! Jesus was sent to be a perfect example and sacrifice for our sins and to reconcile us back to God the Father. He was also sent for the Great Eight. We are in no way saviors, but we get to act as the hands and feet of Jesus in the world today.

Widowed

Our Adored Ministry at Arbor Road Church is a ministry to women who have been widowed. We host about 3 events a year to promote community and to love on our ladies and also have a team ready to help meet physical needs like changing a lightbulb or painting a door frame.
Get involved:
Are you a widow with needs or do you know someone who should be invited to our next event? Let us know!
Hungry | Thirsty | Naked

We have an on-campus food pantry that is always accepting donations!
Get involved:
Bring donations on Sunday mornings to donation bins around campus, or drop off at the office any time throughout the week. Have a need or know a need? Come by the church during office hours to pick up a box!

Lift kits are bags of essentials that are perfect to keep in your backpack or car for when you see someone in need.
Get involved:
Lift kits can be purchased in the church lobby for $5 (to help maintain stock), or you can make your own bags to have on hand! Donate items for lift kits at the link below, or grab a group of friends or small group and host a lift kit party.

We partner with Long Beach Rescue Mission (LBRM), Lydia House, Jesus Food, and Precious Lamb Preschool.

More Ways to Serve
We can’t do it all. Do you see a need for a ministry? Pray about beginning a common cause group!
A common cause group is a group that meets together regularly to pray for, learn about, and help to meet needs of a cause that is of common interest to the group.
The goal of a common cause group is to develop awareness for the cause, and to help others in the greater church body to get involved in learning about and meeting the needs of this cause.
